“Instagramization of cities”, “Microgeographies of homemaking on the run”, “Contractual instruments in participation processes” and a variety of emerging research topics were presented in Brussels on the 20th of September, 2019, by the 10th cohort of the Erasmus Mundus Master in Urban Studies (4CITIES). A total of 28 newly-graduated students successfully defended their master’s thesis, bringing an end to an exciting two-year program in which they studied at universities in Brussels, Vienna, Copenhagen, and Madrid.

Meanwhile, the 39 members of the 12th 4CITIES cohort began their studies in Brussels. For the first time, students can choose between the “classical” 4CITIES track and either a research or practice track that provides an individually tailored education through internships and academic research stays in the second year. We congratulate all the graduates and look forward to working with the new cohort of students!

Following introductory words by ULB Rector Yvon Englert and Dean of the VUB Faculty of Science Ben Craps, Michalis Goudis of Housing Europe gave the evening’s keynote speech.
Graduates were called onstage by University of Vienna Program Coordinator Yvonne Franz.
